Hailed by the New York Times for her “rich tone” and “virtuosic panache”
From March 27-29, the Juilliard and Harvard violinist Francesca Anderegg will perform, for the first time as a soloist in Brazil, her elegant and passionate interpretations of contemporary and classical music in Brasilia and Recife. In Brasília, Ms. Anderegg will perform with the Brazilian pianist Erika Maria Ribeiro at Casa Thomas Jefferson – Asa Sul, on March 27 at 8:00 pm. In Recife, Ms. Anderegg will perform with the Orquestra Criança Cidadã at Teatro Luiz Mendonça, on March 29 at 5:00 pm. All events are free and open to the public at-large.
Anderegg’s repertory includes Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, Maurice Ravel’s Violin Sonata, Bela Bartok’s Rhapsody No. 1, Pablo de Sarasate’s, Carmen Fantasy, Op. 25, Manuel de Falla’s Suite Populaire Espagnole, and other famous concertos. Ms. Anderegg graduated from Harvard University in 2005. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The Juilliard School, where she also received a Master’s in Violin Performance.
In addition to interacting with Brazilian professional musicians, Anderegg will also offer violin master classes to students from University of Brasilia and the Orquestra Criança Cidadã in Recife. The programs are sponsored by the United States Mission to Brazil in partnership with Casa Thomas Jefferson in the Federal District and Orquestra Criança Cidadã in the state of Pernambuco.

* Erika Ribeiro, pianist, performer (solo piano and chamber music) shows elegance, intelligence, and extraordinary musicality and versatility. She began her musical studies in her childhood. She is graduated and has Masters Degrees in Music from USP-Sao Paulo. She took several courses in the United States and Europe. In 2005, she won the Nelson Freire Competition. She presents solo recitals and with leading orchestras in Brazil and abroad. She currently teaches Musical Arts at Unirio – Rio de Janeiro.
