STAGE 1 – from the launch of the program until August 13, 2023:
Students interested in applying complete online pre-registration through the link: www.jovensembaixadores.org.br.

STAGE 2 – by August 20, 2023:
Students approved in Stage 1 complete the online application form and upload all documents supporting the prerequisites.

STAGE 3 – by September 6, 2023:
Partner Institutions (PIs) review the documentation of the people who selected them to follow in the selection process, approving or disapproving them for the next stage of the selection process.

STAGE 4 – September 22, 2023 (from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Brasília time):
People from all over Brazil approved for this selective stage access the online system for the written evaluation.

STAGE 5 – October 11, 2023:
PIs review the written evaluations of the people who selected them to follow in the selection process and indicate up to 2 (two) of them for the next stage.

STAGE 6 – by October 24, 2023:
U.S. Embassy/Consulates Selection Committee evaluates the material of the persons nominated by the PI’s and selects those with the best overall score (all prerequisites + written evaluation) for an oral interview.

STEP 7 – October 26 and 27, 2023:
Selection Committee of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates conducts the oral interviews with the persons selected in the previous step.

STAGE 8 – October 30, 2023:
U.S. Embassy and Consulates Selection Committee meets to evaluate the materials of the finalists and select those who will participate in the Youth Ambassadors 2024 program.

STAGE 9 – by November 3, 2023:
U.S. Embassy and Consulates announce the list of persons selected to participate in the Youth Ambassadors 2024 Program.

STAGE 10 – from the announcement of the result:
Youth Ambassadors arrange for passport issuance and documentation for travel to the US, as directed by the US Embassy.

STAGE 11 – November/December 2023:
Embassy/Consulates/PIs support Youth Ambassadors in preparing for the trip to the US.

STAGE 12 – January 16-19, 2024:
Visa Interview and Pre-Departure Orientation (exact location to be confirmed).

STAGE 13 – January 19, 2024:
Youth Ambassadors embark for the United States.

STAGE 14 – January 20 – February 3, 2024:
Programming in Washington, DC and host states.

STAGE 15 – February 3, 2024:
Youth Ambassadors embark for Brazil.

STAGE 16 – February 4, 2024:
Arrival in Brazil. Connections back to home states/cities.
