The Embassy Branch Office in Belo Horizonte was established to build greater understanding of the United States in Minas Gerais and to expand the strong ties of friendship between Brazil and the United States.
Its mission is to promote greater exchanges between the United States and the state of Minas Gerais.
- If you are a U.S. citizen in need of consular services, please refer to the U.S. citizen services page for more information. Currently, the Embassy Branch Office in Belo Horizonte does not offer consular services. You may use the U.S. citizen services at the U.S. embassy in Brasilia or any consulate in Brazil. Most Minas Gerais residents use the services of the U.S. Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro.
- The diplomatic office in Belo Horizonte cannot process visa applications. However, there is an Applicant Service Center (CASV) located in Belo Horizonte where some visa applicants can complete the biometric part of the process before their visa interview.
