Work Hours:       Full-time, 40 hours/week

Salary:   Ordinarily Resident (OR):  FSN-6 – R$ 49.121,00 per year
Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR):  FP-8*- US$ 36,837.00 per year
*Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.

The U.S. Mission in Recife is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Clerk in the Human Resources Office.

Basic Function of Position|
Incumbent performs a variety of clerical functions in support of the LE Staff Management Program. Also serves as post’s liaison on administrative matters relating to the local health and dental insurance company providers and local health insurance broker, as well as being the Main Timekeeper at post, providing work guidance to other timekeepers on T&A issues and software as needed. Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Assistant position, the Human Resources Clerk provides administrative/clerical support to the full range of the recruitment portfolio..

Qualifications Required

  1. Education:  Completion of secondary (high) school is required.
  2. Experience:  Progressively responsible office/administrative work experience is required
  3. Language (This will be tested):
    Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.
    Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Portuguese is required.
  4. Knowledge (This will be tested):
    • Knowledge of Brazilian Labor laws, prevailing practices and procedures, local recruitment practices and general office management is required.
  5. Skills and Abilities (This will be tested):
    Ability to work with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and to draft correspondence in English and Portuguese and to translate from English/Portuguese/English at good working knowledge level is required.

       Additional Selection Criteria:

      1. Management may consider the following when determining successful candidacy:  nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.
      2.  Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.  Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
      3. 3Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
