The U.S. Mission in Brasilia, Brazil is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement (INL) Program Coordinator in the Political Section.

The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week).

Start date: The selected candidate must be able to start work within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications, or their candidacy may not be considered.

Supervisory Position:  Yes

Duties: Manage implementation of the Embassy’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement  program, including monitoring and evaluation across multiple projects through: development of quantitative and qualitative performance metrics; coordination with Interagency Agreement implementers; development of amended letters of agreement between the United States and Brazil; preparation of reports on all INL funded activities to Washington; liaison with Brazilian government officials to ascertain program needs; and, drafting of updates on program effects.  Monitor and report on transnational organized crime in Brazil and adjacent countries, anti-corruption developments, justice sector reform, and related legislation. 

Qualifications and Evaluations

EDUCATION:  A master’s degree in international relations, criminal justice, political science, or law is required.


EXPERIENCE:  Professional experience directly related to Foreign Assistance Program Management or Multicultural Professional Development Programs is required, including experience liaising with Brazilian government officials in law enforcement and justice sectors is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Project management, administration, and general procurement knowledge are required.


LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Portuguese is required.  (This may be tested).

SKILLS AND ABILITES:  Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel experience is required. (This may be tested).

Qualifications:  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
