Brasilia, March 23, 2021: The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Brazil invite journalism students from all over Brazil to participate in online Masterclasss in Data Journalism on March 30, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Brasilia Time). The event is a partnership with the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji), Google News Initiative, Open Knowledge Brazil and Escola de Dados.
Registration is free and can be made through the event website. The masterclass will be conducted by award-winning data journalist, writer and data editor of Google News Lab in San Francisco, Simon Rogers and Google News Lab coordinator in Brazil, Marco Tulio Pires. The event will be moderated by the executive director of Open Knowledge Brazil, Fernanda Campagnucci.
It will be two hours of immersion in the basic concepts of data journalism, in the panorama of the development of this specialty in Brazil and in the world, besides exposing the career possibilities in the area.
Participants will also apply for a free registration in the next class of the Data 360 course and a free annual subscription of the Escola de Dados membership program!
