Opportunity for Brazilian Entrepreneurs to Network and Boost Business Skills

Selected entrepreneurs will participate in two-week trainings in the U.S.

The U.S. Department of State, in partnership with the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Service (SEBRAE), is in the process of selecting up to 100 of the most dynamic Brazilian entrepreneurs, working in agribusiness, health services, medical services, and advanced manufacturing to participate in the Latin America Idea Partnership “LA Idea” Incubator Program.

The “LA Idea” Incubator Program supports the creation of new, innovative companies with high-growth potential.  The program offers Brazilian entrepreneurs special access to a network of U.S. business incubators to facilitate mutual investment opportunities and to support Brazil’s efforts to build the next generation of innovative, globally competitive companies.

The selected entrepreneurs will travel to the United States to participate in highly specialized two-week trainings.  The purpose of this joint U.S.-Brazil program is to build the capacity of participants to better manage and grow their companies, improve their access to international markets, and create jobs in their local communities.

The United States and Brazil share the view that helping small businesses grow and entrepreneurs start new companies is key to creating jobs and ensuring inclusive economic growth.  To that end, on June 30, the U.S. and Brazil signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Promoting Entrepreneurship and the Growth of Micro-and-Small-Sized Enterprises aimed at advancing the objectives of the Small Business Network of the Americas to foster greater connections among the thousands of business service providers and the millions of businesses they serve annually.  The participation of Brazilian entrepreneurs in the “LA Idea” Incubator Program is one of the key deliverables of the MOU.
