Opportunity for young entrepreneurs Scholarship Program “Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) 2023”

The program offers 280 vacancies for young people from Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada and registration is open until December 1

Brasilia, October 28, 2021: The Scholarship Program “Young Leaders of the Americas (YLAI)”, sponsored by the United States Department of State, is seeking young entrepreneurs from Brazil to participate in a six-week program focused on commercial and social entrepreneurship in 2023 in the United States.

YLAI brings promising young leaders from Latin America, Canada, and the Caribbean each year to the United States to expand their leadership and entrepreneurship skills and networking through development workshops and opportunities to learn and exchange experiences with their U.S. peers.

Participants will be selected through a competitive registration process. More than 950 participants from previous editions of YLAI, including 77 from Brazil, maintain a cohesive network in Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada to support each other’s efforts to improve their own ventures, share best practices, collaborate to reduce the opportunity gap, and contribute to economic prosperity in their communities.

Due to the intensive nature of the program, applicants should be fully focused on their professional development and program activities throughout the six-week period in the United States.

The program is open to Brazilian entrepreneurs who meet the following requirements:

  • Be between 25 and 35 years old on the start date of the program;
  • Reside in Brazil;
  • Have a history of growing their own business or social enterprise for at least two (2) years;
  • Have proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in English.
