Os escritórios eleitorais por todo os Estados Unidos tiveram que enviar as cédulas de ausência até o dia 22 de setembro a todos os eleitores que solicitaram as mesmas e que se registraram no exterior como eleitores ausentes.
Aqueles que não receberem a sua cédula a tempo de devolvê-la até o prazo estabelecido pelo seu estado têm a opção de utilizar o Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB), disponível pelo website FVAP.gov.
Os direitos de voto de 3 milhões de cidadãos dos EUA que residem no exterior, assim como os membros da sua familia qualificados, são protegidos pela lei Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). Election offices nationwide were required to send absentee ballots by September 22 to those registered overseas voters who requested them.
Those who do not receive their ballot in time to return it by their state’s deadline have the option of using the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB), available at FVAP.gov.
The voting rights of 3 million U.S. citizens living overseas, as well as Service members and their eligible family members, are protected by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA).
