Public Notice: U.S. Consular Sections in Brazil remain open

The U.S. Mission in Brazil informs the public that our consular sections in Brasilia, Sao Paulo, Rio, and Recife are open for business as usual.  We continue to interview applicants and to process and issue visas.  The Centros de Atendimento ao Solicitante de Visto (CASVs) throughout Brazil also continue to operate as usual.

The U.S. Department of State is restoring visa systems to full functionality after technical issues are resolved. The systems problems may delay processing of approved visas longer than our typical service standard of 5-10 business days.

We regret any inconvenience the problems with our worldwide database have caused travelers in Brazil.  Questions or concerns should be directed to one of the emails below.
