The Public Affair’s Office and EducationUSA center conducted a pre-departure orientation on January 6 to 10 students from Piaui State public schools. The group will travel to the United States to participate in an exchange program with public schools in the State of Florida. They were selected to attend the Piaui State Government Program “To Learn is a Trip.”
After completing their visa interviews at the U.S. Consulate General in Recife, the students were received at the binational center ABA by Public Affairs Officer Naomi Mattos, who talked about the differences and similarities of American and Brazilian culture. Mattos also shared her High School experiences and motived the students to participate in extra-curricular activities. EducationUSA Representative , Maisa Alves, discussed future opportunities to study in the United States and programs promoted by the U.S. Mission in Brazil, such as the Youth Ambassador’s Program.
