Readout of Ambassador Bagley’s meeting with Brazilian Senators and Deputies at the Launch of the U.S.-Brazil Caucuses

Brasília, August 30, 2023: United States Ambassador to Brazil, Elizabeth F. Bagley, met today with representatives from the U.S.-Brazil Caucuses in Congress, Senator Veneziano Vital do Rêgo, Deputy Eduardo da Fonte, Deputy Vinícius de Carvalho and other dignitaries, and delivered remarks highlighting the U.S. support for a stronger relationship with congress. Ambassador Bagley shared insights on the U.S.-Brazil bilateral relationship and expressed U.S. support in strengthening congressional cooperation to spur deeper ties between both countries.

The Ambassador underscored that U.S.-Brazil Caucuses demonstrate how closely connected our countries are, and how important the relationship is to the futures of our nations. “To ensure our continued and shared prosperity, the United States is expanding trade and investments that already support more than 500,000 jobs across Brazil. We also want to guarantee that democratic values are upheld, and territorial integrity of all nations are respected. According to her, Brazil and U.S. must continue working together bilaterally and multilaterally.
