Readout of Secretary Mnuchin’s Meeting with Minister of Finance Eduardo Guardia of Brazil

Sao Paulo, Brazil – Today, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin met with Brazilian Minister of Finance Eduardo Guardia. The Secretary and Minister reaffirmed the importance of bilateral economic ties between the United States and Brazil, and discussed the importance of Brazil’s reform efforts for achieving strong and broad-based economic growth, trade, and security. Secretary Mnuchin and Minister Guardia were joined by Brazil’s Central Bank President Ilan Goldfajn for an exchange of views on economic and financial developments, and on the key issues to be discussed in the upcoming meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
