Secretary of Health Alex Azar to Attend Meetings in Brazil and Argentina for G20 Health Ministerial Meeting

On the evening of September 29, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar will depart for Brazil where October 1- October 3, he will participate in bilateral meetings with government officials to discuss the ongoing collaboration between the United States and Brazil towards global health security and our bilateral science partnership.

In Fortaleza, Brazil Secretary Azar will meet with families to learn about Zika and microcephaly and how our two nations can work together to enhance and protect our citizens against global health threats. He will participate in a number of meetings with state health officials, hospital staff, and health providers. In São Paulo, Secretary Azar will deliver remarks on October 2 to the São Paulo Research Foundation on innovation in the health sector, participate in a roundtable discussion on the importance of value-based healthcare, and meet with municipal authorities on their programs to assist Venezuelan migrants arriving in the city.

On October 3 and 4, Secretary Azar will represent the United States at the G20 Health Ministerial Meeting in Mar Del Plata, Argentina. On October 5, he will attend meetings in Buenos Aires, Argentina with his Argentine counterpart, among other local leaders.
