The U.S. Mission in Brasilia, Brazil is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Secretary in the Treasury Department.

The work schedule for this position is: Part Time (20 hours per week).

Start date: The selected candidate must be able to start work within four weeks of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications, or their candidacy may not be considered.

Supervisory Position:  No

Duties: Incumbent provides administrative assistance to the U.S. Treasury Financial Attaché in helping the office to operate effectively and to coordinate with other offices within and outside of the US Embassy Brasilia. S/he completes invoices, processes reimbursement requests and arranges meetings, conferences, and events for the Treasury Financial Attaché, Economic Specialist, and visiting US officials, among other duties.

Qualifications and Evaluations

EDUCATION:  Completion of high school is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Progressively responsible secretarial or clerical administrative experience is required .

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Portuguese is required (This may be tested).

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet is required. (This may be tested).

2.       Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.  Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
3.       Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
4.       Candidates who are EFMs, USEFMs, AEFMs, or MOHs must have at least one year remaining on their sponsor’s tour of duty to be considered eligible to apply for this position.

Note: Only qualified U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFM) (as defined below) of U.S. Government employees assigned to post under Chief of Mission (COM) authority are eligible for consideration.  A U.S. Citizen EFM does not have to be residing in country to be considered, but the sponsoring officer under COM authority does have to be officially assigned to post and the AEFM must be on the travel orders.
