Media reporting and postings on social networking sites indicate a scheduled demonstration will occur at the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia on November 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM. This demonstration is scheduled to start at the nearby Praça Portugal and then proceed to the U.S. Embassy. November 18 is a Saturday, and the Embassy is closed – avoid coming to the Embassy on November 18.
The U.S. Embassy reminds all U.S. citizens to avoid demonstrations as there could be conflicts between police, demonstrators, and counterdemonstrations which could develop unexpectedly without warning.
