Students from Georgia State University Visit the U.S. Consulate in Recife

The U.S Consulate General in Recife hosted a visit on August 15 by a delegation from the Georgia State University’s (GSU) Robinson College of Business and the Pernambuco-Georgia Chapter of the Partners of the Americas. The GSU delegation was led by two senior professors – Dr. David Bruce and Dr. Pedro Carrillo – and consisted of seven undergraduate and graduate students from diverse fields of study.

Consul General, Richard Reiter, Public Affairs Officer, Matt Keener, and U.S. Commercial Services staffer, Moacir Rodovalho met with the group. The visit was part of an annual, 10-day program which takes place in different countries, offering students the opportunity to learn about economic, social, and political aspects impacting international business.  This year’s program involves a return visit to Brazil and is taking the students to the cities of Recife, Salvador, and Rio de Janeiro.

Discussions revolved around the business climate in Brazil and efforts in the commercial and educational sectors carried out by the U.S. Mission in Brazil to support bi-lateral interests between the United States and Brazil.
