Technology companies discuss the future of the digital economy in Brazil

The event will involve some of the largest companies in the industry and government representatives at FIESP

 

The United States Department of Commerce in Brazil and the São Paulo State Federation of Industries (FIESP) will hold the Digital Economy Conference, in São Paulo, on Thursday, October 26. The event will bring together representatives of the public and private sectors to discuss the future of the digital economy, opportunities in Brazil and the challenges of creating methods that stimulate innovation.

The US Ambassador to Brazil, P. Michael McKinley, and the Minister of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications, Gilberto Kassab, will open the event. Representatives of the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC) and the Ministry of Agriculture and the US Department of Commerce will also take part in this conference.

The conference will be attended by companies such as Cisco, Microsoft, Salesforce, Monsanto, John Deere, Facebook, IBM, Infor, Dell, AT & T, Uber, Intel, Amazon Web Service, Caterpillar and BayBrazil.

The digital economy is part of our lives and is an important component of economic growth and increased competitiveness. These online tools and resources are used to do business, conduct research, get the latest news, avoid traffic, stay in touch with friends and family, and much more besides.

The purpose of this event is to stimulate debate about the opportunities and challenges of this new economy, as well as policies affecting international trade, cyber security and society’s fundamental rights.
