The U.S. Consulate General in Recife will suspend routine visa and American citizens services from June 20 to July 12 to renovate our facilities to provide better customer service for visa applicants and U.S. citizens. During this period, visa applicants and American citizens seeking routine services must apply through the U.S. Consulates in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Porto Alegre or the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia. All other sections of the Consulate General in Recife will continue regular operations.
Visas: The Applicant Service Center (CASV) in Pina will still be open for biometric collection (picture and fingerprints). Visa applicants may schedule a biometric collection appointment at the CASV during this time and schedule a visa interview appointment at the consulate for a later date. Interview waivercases, such as many visa renewals, will be processed normally. The Consulate is providing additional interview appointment times for visas in May and the first half of June for applicants who wish to apply in advance.
American Citizen Services: Routine services (appointments for passport interviews and notarial services) for U.S. citizens will be suspended. The Consulate will only provide emergency services for U.S. citizens during this time. Our Consular agency in Fortaleza, which provides routine services to U.S. citizens, will operate normally.
