U.S. Department of State Technological Systems Issue Continues

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs continues to experience technical problems with our overseas passport and visa systems.  This issue is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category.  We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability.

Due to the systems issues, we must cancel all visa appointments in Brazil on Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 19.  Applicants will be contacted and given details on how to re-schedule.  Appointments are also canceled in São Paulo on Wednesday, June 17. 

We will make every attempt to contact affected individuals.  Our websites and social media platforms will provide updated information on local processes.
