FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On April 26, 2016, U.S. Ambassador to Brazil Liliana Ayalde officially launched the #USinRio campaign at a U.S. Consulate reception to commemorate 100 days to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  #USinRio will help U.S. citizens prepare for travel to Brazil for the Games. The campaign will engage Brazilians and Americans in the spirit of competition through an interactive blog (www.usmissionbrazil.org/usinrio), which includes informational posts and a video series featuring U.S. athletes in action. To help U.S. citizens prepare for their trip, the U.S. Department of State published a Fact Sheet on travel.state.gov, which contains links to essential resources such as the U.S. Mission to Brazil’s Olympics Brochure and the USinRio smartphone app (already available on Google Play and soon in Apple Store).

At the launch, Ambassador Ayalde said, “We’re looking forward to the Games, and invite U.S. citizens and Brazilians to engage in our #USinRio campaign through the blog as well as the many other tools we have created to ensure that those coming for the Olympics and Paralympics are well informed and also understand how the Games help highlight the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Brazil.”
