The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Brazil, with the support of SIDIA Institute of Science and Technology and Manaus Tech Hub, hold the virtual lecture “Artificial intelligence applied to new business and innovation”, on October 29, from 1p.m. The lecture will be free and in Portuguese.
The invited speaker is the Portuguese naturalized American, Manuela Veloso, head of Artificial Intelligence Research at J.P. Morgan Chase and professor at Carnegie Mellon University. A world specialist in robotics and artificial intelligence, a professor and researcher for more than 30 years, Manuela Veloso founded a research laboratory – CORAL – that aims to study the challenges of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Its journey includes the creation of “cobots”, collaborative robots that share information with each other and with humans, as well as the organization and participation in RoboCup, an annual robot football championship.
