U.S. Embassy and +Unidos open registration for program aimed at female entrepreneurship

The goal is to offer 90 women an online entrepreneurship program aimed at lasting business growth. Registration until December 6.

Brasilia, November 16, 2020: This Monday (16), to mark Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Brazil, in partnership with the +Unidos Group, launches the Academy For Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). Aimed at women entrepreneurs seeking opportunities to expand their business, the initiative will be available in the Federal District and in the metropolitan regions of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. There are 30 vacancies for each region and the selection process starts today (16/11) and runs until December 6.

The curriculum, based on the ten modules of coursera’s ‘10,000 Women’ online course, will feature classes in business expansion, finance, financial planning, negotiation, sales, marketing, operations, management, etc., all of this complemented with lectures, workshops, visits, virtual fairs, interaction with successful entrepreneurs, access to innovative tools and various other professional enrichment activities.

Once selected, the 90 participants will receive infrastructure support that meets their specific needs so they can fully and actively monitor the entire AWE schedule.

‘The program will bring immeasurable opportunities for women entrepreneurs in these regions. It is not only a training, but possibilities to expand your networks of contacts and to acquire tools for a better future. By developing women’s ability to be economically independent, good things happen in society, and that’s just another benefit of the U.S. government actually investing in AWE,” U.S. Ambassador to Brazil, Todd Chapman said.

To participate, it is necessary that the candidates are over 21 years, reside in the Federal District or in the metropolitan regions of the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and already have a business established for at least two years. The AWE

AWE is an international program aimed at women entrepreneurs who are looking for opportunities to grow and grow their business. The program is based on an online business education program that has already allowed more than 10,000 women to show lasting business growth.

This three-month training aims to offer participants a program focused on strategies to leverage economic potential, creating favorable conditions for greater stability, security and prosperity of the business of women entrepreneurs.
