On Tuesday, September 27th Vice Consuls Christian Olsen and Cristian Martinez-LuSane delivered a presentation on the American electoral process at the Associaçao Brasil America (ABA), Recife. With the national elections just weeks way in the U.S., the Vice Consuls benefited from a captive audience eager to learn more about the nuances in U.S. elections. More than 50 ABA students attended and engaged the Vice Consuls on the differences between the U.S. and Brazilian electoral processes.
After the presentation, ABA ran a mock election and the students voted for their desired Presidential candidate. ABA was so impressed with the interest from their students that they have invited the U.S. Consulate to deliver another similar presentation in the coming weeks.
