On Aug. 17, Dominic Mancini, Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) spoke at the Rio Grande do Sul Federation of Industries (FIERGS) on U.S.-Brazil international regulatory cooperation for an audience of 40 representatives from various industrial sectors. At FIERGS, he also participated in a roundtable on regulatory process and legal issues for representatives from the government, industry, agriculture, and service sectors. In addition, Mancini had lunch with a group of FIERGS board members, including the Vice President for Foreign Trade as well as the Directors for International Relations and International Negotiations.

On Aug. 18, Mancini met with a group of officials, academics and researchers at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC/RS) and PUC’s Tech Park (TECNOPUC) to discuss regulatory cooperation and policies for innovation, IP, R&D, science and technology. During a one day stop in Sao Paulo, he met with representatives of the business and academic communities to discuss opportunities for continuing regulatory cooperation between the United States and Brazil.
